This area will tell you what you need for a ghost hunt or vidual...
Camera
35mm camera with black and white film and/or infrared film.i use a digital camera that will enable me to take several pictures quickly and it costs no money to get and see the pictures you have taken, because film can be very expensive when you go on a vidual but there is a down side to using a digital camera and that is you cant get the negatives that you need for some sceptics proof, but i say if you dont believe my pictures up your bum i know they are real.
But remember only buy a camera that you can afford because you can still get great pictures on a cheep camera so dont go crazy.
Ghost Catcher: (also called, a Spirit Wind Chime)
The idea here is that the spirit will pass by and cause the ghost catcher to chime much like a wind chime does in the wind. You can use the wind chime that you get in the stores, however, try to get the ones made of the lightest material. You don't want the arms to be too heavy. For obvious reasons these will not be affective outside or in any area where a breeze or wind is blowing.
Spot Lights: Small battery powered spot lights really help at night when it comes to setting up and taking down cameras and other equipment. They can also be used for safety and to get a better view of the surrounding terrain at night
Compass: Great for navigation if you know how to use one and also great for picking up those electromagnetic forces. A compass will react to any magnetic or electrical stimulus that is out of the ordinary. Same rules apply here, try not to use the electronic compass's. Stick to the simple boy scout, needle pointsto the North compass.
Video camera (camcorder)
These are very handy for placing around a location that has activity, you can get actual video evidance of spirit activity like moving orbs or spirit lights and other visual movement of objects, and again only buy what you can afford but you do need a camcorder that has zero lux on so you can record in pitch black or very dark locations.
Electromagnetic Field Detectors
These are great! EMF Detectors can pick up electronic fields over different frequencies. Where there are ghosts there are usually disruptions in the electronic field.
EMF readings of 2 to 7 mG are indicative of possible spirit activity.
You can pay silly money for a EMF reader, i have seen them for £2.00 but thats just stupid i ve got my emf's from Ghost uk for only £45 and they are brilliant specially modifide for detecting ghosts and spirits, so why pay stupid money for somthing you dont need....
Motion Detectors are a useful tool for ghosthunters. They work great when left in a room during the time when no investigator is present. We have had them go off in rooms where no activity has been reported and upon further investigation, we found much evidence of spirit activity in the area. The motion detectors used by paranormal investigators project an infrared beam. When the beam is disrupted by spirits an alarm will sound giving the investigator a clue that spirits may be present in that area.
Flash Lights: Always have bright flash lights (usually 3 or 4) and extra batteries. Sometimes candles may be used but don't count on them staying lit.
Tape Recorder: A good tape recorder and an external static free microphone should be in use at all times in the ghost hunt. Even if you don't hear anything during the hunt rewind the tape and play it back. Spirit voices have been known to be heard on tape later after review. This is referred to as, EVP, Electronic Voice Phenomena. Again, use brand new tapes enerytime you do recording.
A Notebook and pens/pencils: Notebook is a good way to keep notes, records of time or a journal of events.
Thermometer: A good thermometer can detect changes in room temperature quickly. It's best to use the old fashion mercury filled, red line, thermometers. They have electronic thermometers but in ghost cases where electromagnetic forces have been reported they might fail right when you need them.
Food it sounds silly but always stock up on food and snacks because you could be in a location for quite some time and you dont wont to cut your night short because you get hungry or need a drink.
Warm clothing it makes sense to check the weather out before going on a hunt and take the right kind of cloths with you like a warm jacket or coat but make it light because you have enough things to carry and you wouldnt want it getting in the way when you take that perfect shot.
ID Always take some id with you just incase you have a run in with police, you never know...
Note Always tell someone where your going and Never go on a hunt on your own, you may get hurt and on your own and hurt is not good believe me.
Well there is some info for listen and look be safe and have fun.
Good luck and happy hunting....
